Finally the wait is over and the guys are
able to get on site and start setting out the dimensions of the design. It's a
stunningly beautiful day and the temperature is already at 21 degrees at
8.00am.
The passes and badges were delivered to my house on Friday morning and
I was supposed to hand over the relevant ones to Matt of Greenbelt Landscapes when I met up with him at our Alderley Edge project that same morning. However,
they didn't arrive on time so we arranged to meet at Tatton Park this morning.
The show site opened at 8.00am and I made it
there in less than 15 minutes, which surprised me as I was expecting there to
be queues to get in. There were no hordes of vehicles waiting to get in and
raring to get started. We were some of the first people on site although they
were expecting it to get busy once the delivery vehicles started to arrive.
The RHS team have already dug out the whole
plot to 150mm as we need to create a large area for the pool and space for the
footings for all of the walls around the space, both low and high. This will
also give us some depth in which to slot the plant pots when we plant up. It
has also saved the Elliott and Dan a day’s work, so they are one day ahead
already! They still have plans to work weekends but I hope for their sakes that
this good weather means that they will make great progress and might even be
able to take a day off before the start of the show in just over two weeks
time.
Elliott has just reported that they have
started on the footings for the rear boundary wall ready to start building
tomorrow morning!
